Best Practices Tips for Blogging and Marketing



Every Internet Marketer knows how powerful blogging can be and how much it can raise their profit margins when it is done well. Not all Internet Marketers, however, understand what goes into sustaining a good level of success once it has been achieved. It's incredibly important that you continue to work on your blog--otherwise somebody will over take you in no time at all.

This does not stop being true--it doesn't matter how much success you want to achieve. It is very important to ensure that you are doing the following things on a regular basis.

If you have never paid much attention to formatting your blog content in an optimal way, then you need to ensure that is up to par. This most often means lots of white space, short paragraphs and short sentences. After all, you want the content to look good and approachable, but you also want to strike a balance between thoughtful content and a quick list. The idea is to make sure that people can scan your content without having to move their screens up if they don't want to. So then again there are different methods you can use to write and format your articles or your posts.

Only ask your readers for one type of action. If you ask for more than that, you'll just confuse them. Do you want them to opt-in to your list? Do you want to get a lot of comments? Do you want them to buy what you're advertising in your sidebar?

Do you want your readers to go through your blog to your sales page? Don't try to get people to do that all at the same time. Just choose the one that is the most important and aim your blog toward that. Your readers need to be able to figure out precisely what you want from them as soon as they land on your page. The more you ask them to do, the harder it gets for them to do anything.

Obviously you already have a few social media profiles. You've probably got, at the very least, a Facebook account and a Twitter account. You might also have accounts on Reddit, LinkedIn, Digg, etc. Your blog should prominently feature button links for those accounts.

This helps to encourage your blog readers to follow you on all of those accounts as well. Your readers want a connection with you--as much of one as they can possibly get--and when you don't make it easy for them to find your social media accounts, they're going to have a really hard time making that connection. This means it will be harder to share what you've got to offer with them which makes it, in turn, harder to sell to them. If yo are not careful about what you are doing, then you can end up using wrong information. It is up to you as to what you do with it, and most people are too lazy to do anything good. The longer you have a blog, you will see a natural progression as you add to it, and this happens to most blogs. Once you reach a certain point, then you will see that all this hard work will pay off, but you have to dedicate yourself to this process with your blogging.
